New Meeting Location for LAG in 2012

The Lincoln Artists Guild will start the New Year off at a new meeting location!
LAG will begin meeting at the LUX Center for the Arts on Tuesday, February 7, from 7 - 9pm.
The LUX Center is located in the historic University Place on the NW corner of 48th and Baldwin.

Artist, Lisa Cassel will be demonstrating and
sharing her art techniques in oil, acrylic, and
graphite at our February program meeting.

ANAC Travel Show Arrives!

The 2011 Association of Nebraska Art Clubs(ANAC) Traveling Show is on exhibit February 7 - 28th
at Noyes Gallery, 119 S 9th St.
The annual ANAC Show is comprised of works of art from 40 art clubs across Nebraska.
A nationally-known artist is selected as judge.  Award winning artwork travels throughout
Nebraska the following 12 months, giving people all across the state an opportunity to view
the show.  Lincoln Artists' Guild members Howard Kaye, Jude Martindale, Missi Paul,and Reida Wrenholt are four of the twenty-five artists that received Awards of Excellence at the 
2011 ANAC Conference.  
The show will continue on from Lincoln to Fremont, O'Neill, Ord, Grand Island, and Aurora.

LAG Visual Art Scholarship

It's time to apply!
Lincoln Artists' Guild $250 Visual Arts Scholarship is available to Lincoln Public School seniors who demonstrate a strong desire in pursuing and continuing studies in visual arts.  View the Scholarship Application for all the details.

All artists, their families and the general public are welcome.
FIVE CATEGORIES: Wet Medium (watercolor, acrylic, oil, ink, etc...) • Mixed Media • 3D
Dry Medium (graphite, charcoal, pastels, colored pencil, etc..) • Photography/Digital Imagery
The student exhibition will be held at the White or Wheat Sandwich Shoppe, 2840 So. 70th, April 1-May 25th. The opening reception, Saturday, April 14th, 1:00- 2:30 p.m.  Entry forms are due March 20th. There are five categories: wet medium (watercolor, acrylic, oil, ink, etc...), mixed media, 3D, dry medium (graphite, charcoal, pastels, colored pencil, etc..), and photography/digital imagery. Our judge for the show will Howard Kaye, a local known artist that has had is art published in magazines, newspapers, and show his work internationally.
We invite all artists of high school age (14-18 years old) to participate, including public high school students, home-schooled students, and students attending private schools. You need not be enrolled in an art class to participate.  Awards will include ribbons for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, WOW Best of Show, and People’s Choice Award. White or Wheat’s WOW Best of Show art award also includes student’s choice of a WOW sandwich. Depending on amount of entries, monetary awards may also be included.

Three Must See Shows in March!!!

The Lincoln Artists' Guild ANAC Show will be on exhibit from March 1-30th at the RBS Wealth Management Building (formerly Wells Fargo), 70th and O Streets, 1st Floor.  Show hours are Monday-Saturday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.   An Opening reception was held on Friday March 2, 7-9pm.  Stop in and see some award winning art!

The 3-Objects Project has moved East and can be seen at White or Wheat Sandwich Shoppe, 2840 S 70th, until March 27th.  Hours are Monday - Friday, 7am - 5pm and Saturdays, 7am - 3pm.  The show is unique with each artists' interpretation of the three objects in various mediums.

Last but not least a very nice selection of members work can be seen at the Nebraska State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall South this month.  This can be viewed during business hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

2012 Spring Juried Art Show

The Lincoln Artists’ Guild (LAG) is holding their annual Spring  juried art show, at the Nebraska State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall South, 1st Floor.  The show runs April 2nd through the 30th , Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Members of the Lincoln Artists’ Guild (LAG) are displaying their artwork at the Nebraska Bookstore, 13th & Q, Second Floor.  The show runs April 2nd through the 30th during regular store hours, and is open for viewing during the First Friday Art Walk on the evening of April 6th.

July 2012, Show in Seward for Fourth of July Celebration

Members of the Lincoln Artists' Guild will exhibit artwork at the Langworthy Gallery located in the Seward, Nebraska Civic Center.  This show, titled "The Rhythm of Art," is sponsored by the Seward Arts Council, and part of Seward's 144th Annual Fourth of July Celebration.

Nov 1-30, LAG Fall Juried Show

Members of the Lincoln Artists' Guild will present their best work of the year at the fall juried show in November. Nine prizes including the James Ray Award and the Clarisse Hastie Award will be given. Julia Noyes, artist and owner of Noyes Art Gallery, will judge the show.

The Clarisse Hastie Award came from a memorial for Clarisse Hastie, who died in August 2012. Born in Northern France, Hastie enjoyed "the good life" in Lincoln where she was an active artist – teaching and exhibiting at the Lincoln Arts Festival and elsewhere.
